Dear J & C,
I love that you two decided to get photos of Jackie in honor of her 1st birthday, and I love *even more* that I got to be the photographer who took them. Spending the afternoon with you three was comfy and fun. I loved watching you two marvel at your little person as she entertained us with her highly descriptive musings on the Hawaii paintings ("Ta-ta! Ta-taaaaaa! Ta-ta? Ta-ta.")
And her inspection of the leaf was so through and sweet! Clearly we, as adults, have sorely overlooked the fascinating world of the bottom carnation leaf.
Ready for my favorite photos from the session? It was hard to choose, but it's the two below - I can't imagine a sweeter daddy-daughter moment! I love the adoring gaze you're giving her while she grabs at your chin with her chubby little hand.
And then these smiles... allowing Jackie a few extra examinations of your earrings was a pretty special photo-shoot treat ;-)
Our trek downstairs included the sturdiest part of the carnation stem - that delightful leaf did not survive, but Jackie adapted pretty well, I'd say. I know we're all rethinking the amount of money we spend on toys, when really, just a flower stem & leaf would do just fine.
