Baby Hendrik || South End Baby Photography

Today, I'm super excited to share photos of one ridiculously adorable babe (with an amazing name!), Hendrik. This little dude sneakily learned not just to sit, but also to *crawl* before his first photo session, which ensured all the grownups were kept on their toes, continuously scooching him back on the bed. (Not exactly what his momma and I had planned when we discussed his session. It's like babies don't care about what the grownups want, or something ;-) )

Speaking of his momma - isn't she lovely?! - she has been such a joy to plan with - we had some good back and forths about wardrobe, bed linens, etc, and I love how her styling all came together! Hendrik also got lots of silly time with his playful dada!

With his infectious grin and amazing hair, I hope to have many more chances to photograph this little one as he grows!

To Hendrik's family - thank you so much for the honor of being his first photographer! I couldn't have asked for a better start to that weekend!

Leah and her Family||Watertown Newborn Photography

Hi friends! I'm feeling a bit giddy to share Miss Leah's newborn session with you.... partially, because, well, she is a perfect new little human (and I got to spend a good part of a day last week cooing and rocking her to sleep)........and partially because I absolutely adore her family, who I met a few years ago when Leah's big sister had her own newborn session. When I asked how big sister Vanessa was adapting to her new role, the answer was, "Fine! As long as we introduce Leah as *her* baby."Leah's momma wanted to make sure we created a really different look for this session than for Vanessa's, so we went with some bolder and brighter hues, including a favorite scarf of mine that we mcgyvered into a colorful swaddle. This momma of two worked hard (read: nursing gymnastics) to get us a snoozing Leah! We then got plenty of classic newborn portraits before she requested another snack break. Leah, at about 5 weeks, is considered an "older" newborn in the context of newborn photography, and while that means sleepy photos do tend to be more elusive, it also means I am usually able to capture more of little one's emerging personality. So there she is, all smirky and delightful, and I couldn't be more overjoyed to share these photos with her wonderful family. So happy for you four!

Post-Wedding Un-Engagement Photos!||Boston Couples Photography

I met D a few years back when he called me in a panic for a last-second headshot. He assured me that it would be next to impossible to get a good photo of him, but I'm never convinced of that for a second. During the shoot, we ended talking about his beloved partner, K, and he was so, happy, relaxed, and at ease as he talked about her that we ended up with a great portrait, no problem. So we checked that off the list. However! Being such a romantic, I was dying to meet his lovely sounding person, and so for Christmas I suggested he buy her a couples photo session. 'Cause he's so awesome he recognized what a great idea it was ;-)  And so, here's a glimpse of this stunning couple, who just radiates love.....

We met at Piers Park in Boston for what turned out to be a super fun evening of laughing and chatting. The big surprise came when D&K casually revealed that they were newlyweds! They got married last November, but they didn't have a photographer with them at City Hall. Which in a way, is awesome, because it basically means I am their unofficial post-wedding engagement photographer. In all seriousness though? It was a true honor to document you two during your first year of marriage. I am besides myself with joy having witnessed a bit of your love for one another.Here's to many, many MANY more years.

Estelle has Arrived!||Boston Newborn and Family Session

I could count up the amount of times I've photographed this family, but I'd rather spend the time telling you about how much I adore them. A few years ago, I met them when Sullivan was just a sleepy, smiley little newborn with his own mini guitar. And now, Estelle is here, and has transformed them into the fabulous quad below.....I snuck over to their house early last Friday to catch big brother Sullivan before he headed off to daycare. Goofy little imp that he is, the photos of him and baby Estelle are basically brought to you by the magical power of jellybeans.Once dad brought the wild guy out to the confines of his carseat, it was time to get some shots of Miss Estelle:  Tiny of the Hour. Little sweetpea snoozed and snoozed, making it nearly impossible for me to be done with the session. (I would have photographed her the whole day if that weren't totally impractical for all involved.)It's kind of hard to get over her amazing hair, no? Longtime followers of this blog (Hi, Momma! ) may remember my appreciation of this momma's gorgeous hair and amazing design sense from Sullivan's newborn session a few years ago. Neither quality has gone anywhere..... 

When dad returned he gave us coffees and we handed over his daughter. We wanted to re-create a favorite photo from Sullivan's newborn session and Estelle was quite happy to oblige.Oh you guys... I am so thrilled for you! And also, for me, because we have two more sessions coming up this year. Let's hear it for First Year Package goodness! Woo-hoo!

Sid Got Bigger!||Brookline, MA Baby & Family Photography

Ack! You guys! I'm back with this super adorable, sweet & fun family. But before we get to them, I gotta remind you about Sid... I photographed him as a teeny newborn peanut, and his family and I all had so much fun together they decided to upgrade to my First Year Package. Which makes me super happy, especially because, well you'll get a pretty good idea when you check out Siddharth's smile, below..... Incidentally, Sid has the most cooperative three year old big sister that I've ever photographed. (I truly couldn't believe what a good listener she was, and in such fun spirits too! She's also a ridiculous sweetie pie, and held my hand as we crossed the street and walked to the park.)

And now, the whole family:Sid's momma commented to me that getting together for our photo shoot was more like hanging out with a friend that happened to be a professional photographer! Such a compliment, and I couldn't agree more.... spending the morning with them was truly delightful!I hope you all love your sneak peek, and I can't wait to share more soon!

And Milo Makes Four||Andover, MA Newborn and Family Photography

Hi Everyone! Here's a brand new little guy for you to meet....... it's Milo!

Just a few little many years ago (eh-hem, twenty) I was in theater class with Milo's dad in high school! And now, many years later, Mister Milo is the second baby in this lovely, hilarious, theatrical family. Here he is with big sister Robin... (Robin was this tinynot all that long ago, too! Wild, right?)

I have a feeling this look of skepticism may be a frequent occurrence as Milo sorts out what his big sister is up to...

To this family that I am oh-so-fond of: you four are so dear to me, and I couldn't be happier to take photos of this adorable little guy.... Can't wait for six months!

I Just Gave Birth, Don't Take My Picture!||Boston Newborn Photography

95% of the time I talk to pregnant or brand-new mommas about their little one's newborn session, they say something to me like, "But I don't have to be in the photos, right?"No. Of course you don't. But I am 100% sure that despite how exhausted, and physically not photogenic you may feel, I will be able to capture your beauty following the most miraculous thing your body has ever done: grow a brand new person!Truly, I have been photographing newborns for more than five years now, and there is never a photo session during which at some point I am not blown away by the sheer amazingness of what our bodies can do. So you may feel depleted, or like a giant balloon version of yourself. You may be unable to form sentences, let alone brush your hair, but I know that you are amazing, and I see how beautiful you are. And I'm going to show you - I promise.And if, -IF- I can't convince you to see you as I see you, you will never have to look at that photo again. But I'm willing to bet it will be one of your most treasured photos of the session. Mommas are beautiful, even if we can't feel it or believe it at times. Love,

Emmie is Six Months!||Jamaica Plain Baby and Family Photography

Can you believe that Miss Emmie is already at her six month milestone? This cutie pie and big sister Claire are a bundle of darling-ness and *energy*! (I truly am in awe of their parents for managing to organize five photos sessions in the past few years with two kiddos under the age of three! No easy feat!) Can you get over those kissable lips and adorable toes?

Emmie is less interested in sitting, and bypassing that to just scooch herself around (although she could balance herself for a bit!)Miss Claire is looking like such a big girl, and yet,just a few short years ago..... All adults present fought diligently to get a family photo..... I used up *all* of my photographer tricks, and they both pulled out all the stops. We ended up with this as the most traditional one, but the entire series is quite the entertaining narrative....One short, quiet moment amid the chaos.... Also hard fought: a photo of these sisters.....

The parents of these cuties did one of my favorite things.... got my Year of Loveliness package for both little Emmie and her big sister Claire. With this package, I come and photograph your little one and family three times during the first year, and present you with a gorgeous heirloom album after the first birthday session.
