Oh goodness, here's the sweet Olive! At a year and a half, this little human has so much curiosity and so many smiles to share.
Snuggly smiles with Momma.....Wistful smiles with dada....Smile break for grass inspection..... clearly all the BEST blades are hiding in the box.Okay, one moment of intense concentration while figuring out the best way to sit atop this crate. The way that looks significantly less stable to us grownups is clearly preferred. We're so conventional with our thoughts on sitting!You know what else cracks Olive up? Daddy smooching mommy.... And lastly, we have Olive completely losing it over... what? Can't say I remember. However, seeing hilarity overtake her whole little body also makes *me* smile - BIG.To the Darling little Olive - may your life continue to bring you so much joy and laughter! A little Behind the Scenes hair fixing turns out to be quite a photogenic moment....Of course, I am as stunned by her momma that in the past few years we somehow have had six photo sessions with two different babes! (Clearly her mom has done the MUCH harder part;-). Such a kind, energetic and intelligent woman, these girls are lucky to have her as their momma....It wouldn't be right not to mention their easy-going and fun dad right here. Micah Makes Four! || Lexington, MA Newborn & Family Photography
Oh goodness, ready for some sweetness? A newly formed quad, Baby Micah's arrival allowed me to catch up with this lovely family:Just a few-couple years ago, I met this then-family-of-three when Miss Aleenah was born. For fun, we took a photo of Micah in one of the hats and wraps I'd photographed her in, and now, side by side.... (please note: not intended for sibling competition of "who wore it better"!;-))Funny sidenote is that Micah, at 9.5 lbs at his one week weigh in, (and his newborn session happened when he was almost 4 weeks), is the biggest little guy I've ever photographed. Which actually proved to be slightly problematic as many of my wraps were just too small for him! No matter - we employed some of his many available wraps. And then we convinced him, quite happily, I'd say, to show off his adorable faux hawk....And, as often happens at newborn sessions with older siblings, there was a bit of show stealing....Also, it's possible that Micah's dad did a little scene stealing of his own with his, um, gym time. (Look at how teeny Micah's head looks next to his dad's arm!)And lastly, look at this momma of two.... while the reality is that this shot was hard won (eh-hem, abundant incentives and tricks), she does make it look pretty good, doesn't she?Speaking of hard won....Congratulations you guys! So happy to be part of this second homecoming!

He's Got Those Cheeks!||Somerville, MA Family Photography||
How much do you just want to snuggle baby Evan with his adorable squeezable cheeks? At about 6 months, this little guy was such an easy and agreeable subject.....He wasn't always convinced that the photo session was fun, but his parents came super prepared with many exciting toys, and he joyfully played drums on this awesome orange ball with smiles galore. Evan found momma time pretty agreeable whether or not toys were involved.... Included in the bag Evan's parents brought was a traditional Chinese toy that his Grandma, who also joined us for the session, had a great time sharing with him. And there you have it: Evan and his family! Also, this lucky photographer already has plans with his family for upcoming sessions - so there will be two more sessions to share of this little one over the next year or so!

Baby Hendrik || South End Baby Photography
Today, I'm super excited to share photos of one ridiculously adorable babe (with an amazing name!), Hendrik. This little dude sneakily learned not just to sit, but also to *crawl* before his first photo session, which ensured all the grownups were kept on their toes, continuously scooching him back on the bed. (Not exactly what his momma and I had planned when we discussed his session. It's like babies don't care about what the grownups want, or something ;-) )
Speaking of his momma - isn't she lovely?! - she has been such a joy to plan with - we had some good back and forths about wardrobe, bed linens, etc, and I love how her styling all came together! Hendrik also got lots of silly time with his playful dada!
With his infectious grin and amazing hair, I hope to have many more chances to photograph this little one as he grows!
To Hendrik's family - thank you so much for the honor of being his first photographer! I couldn't have asked for a better start to that weekend!

Leah and her Family||Watertown Newborn Photography
Hi friends! I'm feeling a bit giddy to share Miss Leah's newborn session with you.... partially, because, well, she is a perfect new little human (and I got to spend a good part of a day last week cooing and rocking her to sleep)........and partially because I absolutely adore her family, who I met a few years ago when Leah's big sister had her own newborn session. When I asked how big sister Vanessa was adapting to her new role, the answer was, "Fine! As long as we introduce Leah as *her* baby."Leah's momma wanted to make sure we created a really different look for this session than for Vanessa's, so we went with some bolder and brighter hues, including a favorite scarf of mine that we mcgyvered into a colorful swaddle. This momma of two worked hard (read: nursing gymnastics) to get us a snoozing Leah! We then got plenty of classic newborn portraits before she requested another snack break. Leah, at about 5 weeks, is considered an "older" newborn in the context of newborn photography, and while that means sleepy photos do tend to be more elusive, it also means I am usually able to capture more of little one's emerging personality. So there she is, all smirky and delightful, and I couldn't be more overjoyed to share these photos with her wonderful family. So happy for you four!

I could count up the amount of times I've photographed this family, but I'd rather spend the time telling you about how much I adore them. A few years ago, I met them when Sullivan was just a sleepy, smiley little newborn with his own mini guitar. And now, Estelle is here, and has transformed them into the fabulous quad below.....I snuck over to their house early last Friday to catch big brother Sullivan before he headed off to daycare. Goofy little imp that he is, the photos of him and baby Estelle are basically brought to you by the magical power of jellybeans.Once dad brought the wild guy out to the confines of his carseat, it was time to get some shots of Miss Estelle: Tiny of the Hour. Little sweetpea snoozed and snoozed, making it nearly impossible for me to be done with the session. (I would have photographed her the whole day if that weren't totally impractical for all involved.)It's kind of hard to get over her amazing hair, no? Longtime followers of this blog (Hi, Momma! ) may remember my appreciation of this momma's gorgeous hair and amazing design sense from Sullivan's newborn session a few years ago. Neither quality has gone anywhere.....
When dad returned he gave us coffees and we handed over his daughter. We wanted to re-create a favorite photo from Sullivan's newborn session and Estelle was quite happy to oblige.Oh you guys... I am so thrilled for you! And also, for me, because we have two more sessions coming up this year. Let's hear it for First Year Package goodness! Woo-hoo!
